The Birdcage Veil

Birdcage veils and hair pieces are becoming the latest trend for brides right now. So, add some vintage glamour to your wedding day look by adding one of these chic and fun accessories. Pair this vintage look with a jeweled clip or a ivory feathered flower. This trend definitely requires a edgy, daring bride! So, brides that are looking for a dramatically different look than the traditional bride- Try a birdcage veil!

Signature Wedding Cocktails

Refresh you guest with a signature cocktail! Having signature wedding cocktails at your reception can give your wedding a perfect personal touch. You can pick your favorite drinks or make up something new and fun!

Some ideas if you are considering a signature cocktail for your wedding:

  • Color - Make your drink coordinate with your wedding color scheme. Whether your wedding color is green, blue, red, purple - Make your drink that color!
  • Theme - Match your drink to the theme of your wedding. If you are having a beach wedding, serve a tropical type cocktail or if you are having a glamorous city wedding, you might want to serve a cool martini.
  • Recipe - Give your guest a recipe card to take home with the recipe of your cocktail. Also, it would be fun to give your drink a funny name or write a special story that relates to the bride and groom.
  • Non-alcoholic version - Make sure you have a non- alcoholic version of your signature cocktail, so your guest that do not drink can still enjoy your new creation!

Patterned Table Linens

Since the tables are the center of attention in terms of your reception style... The tables need to be gorgeous! So, if you want to add a little style to your table decor at your reception you might want to try different patterned table linens instead of the usual solid white or cream colored linens. For instence, try using bold colored polka dots, damask (my favorite), paisley, stripes, or checkered prints.

You can either:

  • Use full patterned lines on your tables.
  • Or use a solid colored linen with a patterned overlay.

This would be a great pattern for a spring/summer wedding!

Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

This means dressing your bridesmaids in one color and letting them pick out what style fits them best. Or, another way you can do this mismatched dress trend is to pick out a certain style of dress and your bridesmaids can pick out their favorite color from a certain color palette, like for instance- different shades of blue.

If you have a bunch of bridesmaids that are different sizes and have different skin tones... this would definitely be a good choice for you to go with! Not only will this trend make your whole wedding party look unique and stylish, but it will also take the added pressure off of you to try and find the one dress that pleases all of your bridesmaids! This is a win-win for everyone! :)

The Colored Shoe

Add a splash of color to your wedding attire! I absolutely love this trend. Show your personality under your white gown by wearing a pair of red, blue, or green pumps! You can try and match them up to the color scheme of your wedding or just wear your favorite color. Also, this can be a perfect opportunity to incorporate your "something blue" by wearing a pair of blue heels.

Photo Booth

A great way to get your guest involved in your wedding and to get some fun, unique photos is to have a photo booth at your wedding. You can either rent a booth or if you are on a budget make your own.

Some Ideas if you are considering a photo booth:

  • Have lots of props - This will help your guest have more fun with the photos. You can use funny hats, sunglasses, mask, and wigs. Another good prop to have in the photos is a mini dry erase board or chalk board for guest to right special messages to the bride and groom. After the event is over the messages will definitely be fun to look at.
  • If you rent a photo booth have the booth print out two copies one for you and one for your guest. This can be a great favor for your guest to enjoy.
  • If you are on a budget and can't afford to rent one... It is so easy to make your own. Just designate an area at your reception and set up a back drop by using some fabric or painted design on the wall... the ideas are endless! As, for taking the photo you can get a reliable friend or ask your photographers assistant to take the photos.
